Acquisition of provider of industrial electrical services and equipment expands OTC’s footprint into the Southwest

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Dec. 16, 2019 — Ohio Transmission Corporation, an industrial equipment service provider and distributor headquartered in Columbus, Ohio, today announced the acquisition of Keller Electrical, a dominant provider of industrial electrical services, equipment, components and supplies serving the southwestern United States.

Headquartered in Phoenix, Arizona, Keller Electrical maintains a sales and field service office in Tucson, Arizona, and has field service capabilities spanning the Southwest and Mexico.

“Keller Electrical was founded in 1982 and has grown to become a leading service provider in the southwestern United States,” said Philip Derrow, President and CEO of Ohio Transmission Corporation. “This further expands our regional footprint into the southwestern United States and adds almost 120 new associates to our OTC family. We are humbled to have the opportunity to provide a great new home for them.”

Keller Electrical was founded in June 1982 with 11 employees and has grown over the years to become a service provider for electric motor repair, custom electrical controls, fabrication, engineering and equipment field service, installation and maintenance. Its customers represent a wide range of industries, including water and wastewater, mining, aggregate and cement, power generation, agriculture and manufacturing industries.

“We are pleased to welcome Keller Electrical to the OTC Family,” said Matt Piatt, Chief Operating Officer of Ohio Transmission Corporation. “Keller’s capabilities and geographic location are perfect complements to our Crimson Electric motor repair facility in South Carolina and provide a more complete service offering for all of our customers.”

Keller Electrical will continue to operate under its name and with current local management, including Cody Eslick, senior vice president of operations, and Jim Everson, senior vice president and CFO, both of whom will continue to lead the team.

As a division of OTP Industrial Solutions, Keller Electrical will have access to OTC’s vast product and service offerings and resources.

“This acquisition is an important part of our rapidly expanding repair and engineering services capabilities,” said Rob Webb, President of OTP Industrial Solutions. “They also share our commitment to be the best service provider we can be and to provide our customers with a one-stop solution and high-quality products and services.”

The Keller Electrical acquisition is beneficial both for associates and customers of Keller Electrical as well as for OTC, according to Everson.

“For Keller Electrical’s team members and customers, OTC will bring additional resources that will allow Keller to continue its growth strategies in key markets throughout the western United States, and it will increase opportunities for our team members to broaden their skills and to continue bringing top-notch solutions to our customers,” Everson said. “Keller Electrical aligns well with OTC’s existing family of companies and OTC’s growth strategy by providing its current and future customers in the western United States with a familiar and trusted name to bring solutions to customers in the industry.”

“Keller Electrical’s philosophy to be the absolute best industrial service provider combined with OTC’s commitment to dominate the markets they serve will give our customers unparalleled service and commitment,” said Eslick. “All of our team members are excited about the opportunities for growth in our region and the expanding capabilities that we have with OTC.”

With this acquisition, Ohio Transmission Corporation now has 46 locations throughout the Southwest, South, Southeast, Midwest and Northeast regions, along with 22 service shops. The addition of Keller Electrical associates expands Ohio Transmission Corporation’s existing workforce to about 1,200 employees.
